Volunteer work is covered in NZ. NZMII covers volunteer work in the Pacific Islands as a discretionary addition to the policy. Pacific Islands under American and French jurisdictions are excluded. Volunteer work in other countries is subject to NZMII CEO’s approval. Email general@nzmii.co.nz for any further volunteer questions. Volunteer work for company expeditions overseas is not covered.

Yes, any claim arising from medical assistance voluntarily administered at the scene of any emergency, accident, or disaster is covered.

NZMII offers tail cover for SMOs. The cost is $3244.00 which insures your previous cover period for a further six years.
NZMII provides financial assistance to access a registered psychologist or counsellor of your choosing provided NZMII’s approval is sought prior to the psychologist or counsellor being engaged. The maximum amount payable by NZMII $1,000 in any one period of insurance.
All locum work in NZ is covered.
Yes, locum work outside your current hospital is covered.
If you are on a casual contract, please check with your RMO unit and/or email general@nzmii.co.nz Not all districts allow casual RMOs to be a part of the group scheme.
Yes, NZMII will assist with any matters arising from your RMO group scheme cover at NZMII’s discretion.
You can apply for cover on this website under the RMO option. You will need to choose Registrar level cover. Once NZMII has your application and payment, a receipt, confirmation letter and policy will be emailed to you. You can apply ahead of time.
